BLOSSOMS BLOSSOMING

Blossoms Blossoming is a mural I created for Anther restaurant in Athens. The main inspiration for this work was the landscape murals of Knossos, celebrated as the first examples of landscape art in the Western world, created to honor and commemorate connection to nature. The mural was made on two narrow walls along a staircase, positioned opposite each other in such a way that the paintings can only be experienced at an angle and never viewed head-on. This spatial constraint became the starting point for my approach. Working directly on the walls without preliminary sketches, I relied on the proximity and distance of her body to guide the flow of the organic forms, mirroring the natural movement of ascending and descending the staircase.
